"I am still under the impression there is nothing alive quite so beautiful
as a thoroughbred horse."
TASS is new and improved! Based on member feedback, we have made BIG changes for 2016. Most notably, we are revising our points system! We will be offering Year End Awards for each TASS sanctioned division, as well as continuing the tradition of offering awards for High Point War Horse, Green Horse, Adopted Horse, Listing Horse and State Bred Horses.
To streamline the series, TASS has established clearly defined divisions for Hunters, Jumpers, Eventing Suitability and Dressage Suitability. Each show will base their prizelist on these universal TASS pointed divisions, as they are relevant to their schedule and facility. TASS shows may include additional non-pointed classes, which will be clearly identified on the prizelist, but will not count towards year end awards.
TASS is also instituting cross-entering regulations. This season, horses may only compete in two consecutive divisions, determined by fence heights. If a horse graduates to a third, higher height division, he will no longer be eligible to compete in the lowest division for which he accumulated points. A horse may compete and qualify for year end points in different disciplines (Hunter, Jumper or Eventer) provided the fence heights are equivalent.
Additionally, TASS will be offering fewer shows in 2016. Our goal is to provide high quality, well-organized shows which highlight the athleticism of Thoroughbreds and support Thoroughbred Aftercare. With your generous support, our show series has raised over $50,000 for non-profit organizations who assist ex-racehorses, while spreading enthusiasm for the breed. Our hope is to expand our community and make 2016 our best year to date.
